Most of the wardrobes we build for London homes come to £2,400–£8,000 in total, depending on width, door style and internal fittings. Larger projects, premium painted finishes and walk-in dressing rooms range higher.

Smaller jobs carry a practical minimum of around £2,000 — a one-door wardrobe still needs a survey, manufacture, delivery up a London staircase and a fitting team.
What changes the price
- Door style and material. Our standard 18mm MFC slab doors are the benchmark. Painted MDF shaker doors are the most popular upgrade — expect roughly 30–50% more than the equivalent MFC build. Mirrored and glass-insert doors sit in between.
- Finish. We offer 100+ finishes. Standard woodgrains and plain colours are included in the benchmark price; premium textured and super-matt boards add around £167 per wardrobe section.
- Internal fittings. Hanging rails and shelves are standard. Drawers, shoe racks, pull-down rails and LED lighting add cost — LED lighting, for example, adds around £83 per run.
- The room itself. Sloping ceilings, alcoves, chimney breasts and period features take more design and cutting time — that's exactly what made-to-measure is for, but complex rooms sit at the top of each range.
- Removal of old furniture. We can take away and dispose of your old wardrobes — ask your designer to itemise this in your quote.
How Metro's prices compare
National chains publish very little, but their own materials give reference points: Sharps state their fitted bedrooms "start from around £2,000" and their finance examples show typical projects near £5,000; Hammonds' price guide shows example rooms from roughly £3,500 to £9,000 installed. London independents mostly publish nothing at all.
Our pricing is usually meaningfully lower for the same or better specification, for one reason: we manufacture everything in our own Wembley factory (HA9) and install with our own fitters. There is no showroom-chain overhead and no subcontractor margin in the price.
