Contemporary doors are pressed as 5G Vinyl or built in the Edged range, so the faces are flat, wipe-clean and consistent, in matt, superior matt, high gloss and woodgrain. Handleless doors open on a push catch or a routed grip; framed glass versions come from the aluminium-framed range. They suit sliding wardrobes and long hinged runs in new-build flats, and they match the media walls and home office furniture we make for the same clients.

Common Questions About Contemporary Wardrobe Doors
Choosing a contemporary wardrobe is about more than just picking a door. The finish, detailing, handles and internal layout all affect how the finished room feels. Here are some of the questions we’re most often asked about our Contemporary Collection.
Slab, Grooved, Fluted, Handleless and J-Pull. Slab is a single flat face, edge to edge, with no frame or panel. Grooved has fine vertical lines routed into that face at wide intervals. Fluted carries close-set half-round ribs running the full height. Handleless opens on a recessed rail behind the top edge. J-Pull shapes the door edge itself into a lip you grip.
It is the spacing and the profile. Grooved doors have fine lines cut into the face at wide intervals, so from across the room the door still reads as flat. Fluted doors have close-set half-round ribs running the full height, which catch the light and cast a soft vertical shadow that shifts through the day. Grooved is texture you notice up close; fluted is texture you notice from the doorway.
The door is released by a recessed rail set behind its top edge. You reach into the gap and pull, so nothing projects from the face of the wardrobe at all. It is particularly useful in narrow bedrooms, where a handle would catch you as you pass the foot of the bed.
Both give you a wardrobe with no handles fixed to the front. Handleless uses a separate recessed rail behind the door edge. J-Pull shapes the edge of the door itself into a lip you hook your fingers behind, so the grip is part of the door rather than an added component. J-Pull gives a firmer, more positive grip, which tends to suit family rooms and daily use.
Slab or Handleless. Neither has anything projecting from the face, so the wardrobe reads as a wall rather than as furniture and the room keeps its full usable width. A pale super-matt finish pushes the wall back further still, and a mirrored door on part of the run adds apparent depth.

Super-matt is the most requested for flat doors because it absorbs light rather than reflecting it, which keeps a large uninterrupted run looking calm. Gloss does the opposite and lifts a darker room. Samples are brought to your home so you can judge the sheen in your own light.
Yes. Flat doors are the least forgiving of an uneven wall, because there is no frame or moulding to disguise a gap, so the survey matters more here than anywhere else. Every run is measured on site and cut to the room, including sloping ceilings and chimney breasts.
