Every Metro Fitted Bedroom commission is designed and built as a single composition. Six elements specified during the design phase and delivered as one continuous commission.
Bed & headboard
Upholstered or veneered headboards built into the wall composition, not bolted to the bed. Hidden storage in the base if required. Integrated bedside lighting and USB charging routed through the joinery. Choice of fabric, leather or matched timber face.
Wardrobe wall
Full-height bespoke wardrobes — hinged, sliding or walk-in entry — finished to match the rest of the suite. Internal lighting on motion sensors. Pull-out trays for jewellery and watches. Hanging rails specified by what they actually hold.
Dressing area
A dressing island, dresser bench or wall-mounted vanity — with proper task lighting, drawer-front pulls hidden, and surface materials chosen for daily use. Stone, hand-finished timber, leather inlay or matched paint.
Bedside & drawers
Bedside towers or chests of drawers designed to match the wardrobe doors exactly — same paint mix, same hardware family, same cornice height. Soft-close hardware throughout. Internal felt lining on the top drawer as standard.
Lighting scheme
Three layers — wash, task and accent — drawn during the design phase. Hidden in shadow gaps, shelf edges, plinth recesses. Reading lights integrated into the headboard. Bedside dimmer circuits coordinated with your smart-home system if applicable.
Soft furnishings coordination
We don't supply soft furnishings, but we coordinate with your interior designer or upholsterer on fabric tones, headboard depth, bedlinen, curtain pelmet detailing. The joinery and the soft furnishings should look like they belong together.

A Fitted Bedroom commission typically runs 12 to 18 weeks from first home visit to installed handover. The complete bedroom — wardrobes, dressing, bedsides, lighting — is built and installed as one continuous commission.

We went to the showroom and spoke with Palak who designed and advised on the wardrobes. She was consultative and experienced, so knew exactly what was needed and always responded to my queries via Watsapp. The level of engagement was fantastic. Ankur came to measure within the same day. Within a week of placing the order, the fitters (Bagga, Pappu and Naitik) completed the job. Noticed a slight issue with the lighting and Kinjal promptly came and resolved it, explaining what needed to be done. Thank you all! It is important to mention the people involved as they made the experience seamless. It is fair to say that Trades people do not always have the best reputation in terms of timing and reliability. This is not the case with Metro Wardrobes. Genuinely one of the best teams I have engaged with and hence taken the time to write this review. Will use them for future work and naturally, without hesitation recommend them for anyone who is debating about gettting fitted wardrobes!
We found Metro Wardrobes online after receiving an extraordinarily expensive quotation from a well-known wardrobe design and fitting company. James' team was very responsive. Jinal replied to our RFQ the same day and within minutes and demonstrated flexibility (they arranged a visit on a Saturday afternoon, the same day we contacted them for the first time). The solution they offered was of higher quality (better lighting - seamless light, thicker MCF liner, branded mechanisms etc.) than the quotation we already had from their competitor. Surprisingly, we saw a significantly lower price. Therefore, we got concerned about "too good to be true" and decided to visit their showroom. Upon our arrival, we realised that this was not just a showroom by also the manufacturing site, and that was the moment when we felt that we had found the right place. Over there we realised that they offer solutions at higher standards than we already had from their competitor. Jinal was very friendly, understood our needs well, and helped us tailor their solution accordingly. Jame's team stayed responsive and collaborative and provided all the information we asked for to ensure the designs were correct, including high-quality 3D renders based on pictures we sent from our room. They were even happy to offer handles out of their catalogue that we found online from rather suppliers. The last step of course was fitting. Sumit and his team did an excellent job and the final result exceeded our expectations. They were very careful, well equipped and skilled. No rush to finish, but more focused on delivering high-quality results. It is more than 2 weeks and we still look at the wardrobe and we cannot believe that it looks better in reality than in the pictures. The difference from buying pieces separately is that door heights, cornice lines and handle families align across the whole room rather than approximately.
A full fitted bedroom is priced ndividually, because no two rooms need the same set of pieces. A single-wall commission sits at the lower end, and the figure rises as the room takes on more: a dressing table, bedside drawers, a chest of drawers, over-bed storage, bay window seating, a fitted bed and a matching headboard, along with integrated lighting. Wall-to-wall and L-shaped rooms sit above a single wall, and full-room commissions in mixed materials with bespoke hardware higher again. If your budget sits below that, a fitted wardrobe on its own delivers most of the storage benefit at a fraction of the outlay. Every commission is priced after a free home visit.
Fitted furniture uses the full height and width of the room, works around chimney breasts and bay windows, and leaves no gaps to collect dust — typically yielding around 30% more storage than freestanding pieces in the same footprint. Freestanding furniture wins on one point only: you can take it with you when you move. Fitted joinery stays with the property as a fixture.
Yes, and small rooms often benefit most, because fitted joinery can use the awkward space a standalone chest of drawers cannot — over the door, above the bed, into the alcove beside the chimney breast. In box rooms we typically specify an over-bed bridging unit with flanking towers, which recovers storage without taking any additional floor area.
No, but where you're keeping an existing bed or an inherited piece, your designer visits with paint, veneer and fabric samples to find the closest match in our library. Where the match matters — an antique you want the joinery to sit alongside — we can colour-match from a physical sample. Deliberate contrast often works better than a near-miss, and your designer will say so.
Yes. Headboards can be upholstered or veneered and built into the wall composition rather than bolted to a bed frame, with reading lights, USB charging and bedside switching routed through the joinery so no cables are visible. Storage can be built into the bed base where the room needs it. This is one of the clearest differences between fitted furniture and an assembled set of pieces.
Allow 12 to 18 weeks from the first home visit to handover. The workshop stage is the longest part, at 8 to 12 weeks, because the wardrobes, chests, bedsides and dressing area are built simultaneously to guarantee the paint and finish match across every element. Installation takes one to two weeks on site, coordinated with your electrician and decorator where needed.
Usually yes for lighting, since integrated wardrobe and bedside lighting involves mains wiring rather than plug-in fittings. Our lighting circuits are drawn at the design stage so your electrician knows exactly what's needed and when. Decorating is normally done after installation, since walls typically need making good where old furniture came out. We coordinate the sequence with your trades.
Yes — a significant proportion of our bedroom commissions come through architects, interior designers and developers. We work to your team's drawings, integrate with their lighting and electrical schedules, and provide CAD models for their renders. If you're specifying on behalf of a client, ask about the trade workflow at first contact rather than going through the standard consumer route.
Ten years, parts and labour, covering every cabinet, door, drawer mechanism, painted finish and integrated light fitting we supply. It covers structural integrity, finish defects, hardware failure and lighting failure, and excludes wear from misuse or damage caused by third-party building work after installation. Your full specification — paint mixes, hardware codes, dimensions — is kept on file indefinitely for later additions.
