Richmond Shaker Media Wardrobe with Dressing Table

The Richmond Shaker Media Wardrobe is a bedroom wall that does four jobs. At its centre a television sits in a recess over a bank of drawers; at one end a dressing table with a mirror is lit by open shelves either side; a lit display column stands beside the screen; and the tall wardrobes turn the corner of the room, so the run continues along the second wall. All of it is Sage Green shaker with slim brass bars.

The interiors are Cashmere, a pale contrast behind the green doors, and the top boxes run over the screen and the dressing table so the whole wall reaches the ceiling.

How it works: the Richmond is planned as one carcass line that changes use along its length: wardrobe, dressing table, television, display, wardrobe again around the corner. The shaker doors are routed into 18mm E1-grade board and wrapped in Sage Green; the drawers beneath the screen and the dressing table run on soft-close runners; the display column and the shelves beside the mirror carry LED strips.

The screen recess is sized to your television, with cable provision through the drawers below and the top box above.

A bedroom with one good wall gets the wardrobe, the dressing table and the television on it, and keeps the rest of the room for the bed.

Built for everyday use: 18mm MFC carcasses with a solid 18mm back, top and bottom, along both walls; the corner is turned with a corner post rather than a dead void, and the wrapped shaker doors wipe clean.

The Richmond shown measures 4200mm along the main wall x 2400mm high x 600mm deep, with the return planned to the second wall. Yours is made to your corner.

Manufactured in our Wembley workshop

A run that changes use along its length still has to line through, so the Richmond’s carcasses are cut on the beam saw in our HA9 Wembley factory from one survey and drilled on the CNC so the drawer fronts under the screen, the dressing-table drawers and the door rails all sit at the same heights.

The screen recess and the mirror opening are cut to your television and your mirror, the LED channels are routed into the column and the shelves, and the corner is cut to the angle taken at survey.

Richmond Shaker Media Wardrobe FAQs

Can a wardrobe really hold a television?

Yes, if it is planned around one. The Richmond has a recess at its centre sized to your screen, with the drawers beneath it and the top box above cut for the cables, so the television sits inside the wardrobe wall at eye height from the bed. A larger screen later fits a recess made with margin; tell your designer the size you have and the one you might buy.

Where does the dressing table go?

At one end of the run, with a mirror set into the wardrobe wall and lit open shelves either side of it. There is a knee space beneath for a stool and drawers beside it for make-up and jewellery. The top box above keeps the run to the ceiling, so the dressing table reads as part of the wardrobe rather than a piece of furniture against it.

How does the corner work?

The tall wardrobes turn it. The main wall carries the dressing table, the screen and the display column; the tall doors at the end continue onto the second wall, with a corner post between them so the space behind the corner is reached from one side rather than lost. The Richmond is drawn to your corner, whichever way it turns.

Why brass on Sage Green?

Warmth. Sage Green is a cool, quiet colour and slim brass bars give it a warm line without competing with the shaker frames; against Cashmere interiors the whole wall reads as soft rather than smart. Black bars are available if the room is more graphic than that.
