From Metro Wardrobes to Metro Home Interiors

Metro started in 2008 as Metro Wardrobes, a small workshop making made-to-measure wardrobes for north London bedrooms. The idea was plain: design the furniture in the customer's own room, make it ourselves rather than buying in flat-pack carcasses, and fit it with our own people so one company was answerable for the whole job. That is still how every commission works.
Customers kept asking for the next room. Wardrobes led to dressing rooms and bedside furniture, then to media walls, home offices, under-stairs storage and kitchens. By the time most of the work was no longer a wardrobe, the name was holding the company back, so Metro Wardrobes became Metro Home Interiors. Same workshop in Wembley, same designers and fitters, same 10-year guarantee, wider brief.
The company behind both names is Metro Kitchens & Bedrooms Limited, registered at the Wembley unit where the furniture is made. We say this plainly because a fitted furniture order is a considerable sum paid to a company you have to trust to still be there in ten years, and you should be able to check who we are.

Eighteen years of London rooms
Since 2008 we have fitted furniture into Victorian terraces, Edwardian flats, 1930s semis and new-build apartments across London and the Home Counties. Sloping ceilings, chimney breasts, out-of-square walls and awkward alcoves are the normal working day, not exceptions.
Designers who measure, not sell
Our designers come from interior design, manufacturing and engineering backgrounds. They visit your home, measure to the millimetre, ask how you actually use the room and return a full 3D design with an itemised price within two to three days. Revisions are included.
Our own workshop in Wembley
Every piece is made at our Wembley unit with CAD-CAM software, CNC routers, beam saws and edge banders, from 18mm boards. Because we make it, we control the tolerances, the finish and the date, and we can show you the workshop when you visit the showroom.
Our own installers
The people who fit your furniture are employed by Metro and work only on Metro projects. They install within 21 days of your order, usually in one to two days on site, and leave the room clean.
A price you can hold us to
The quotation after the home visit is itemised and fixed. There is no showroom pressure and no obligation; the design and the price are yours to think about for as long as you like.
Ten years, in writing
Every commission comes with a 10-year guarantee on the furniture we design, make and install, handed over as a certificate on the day the fitters leave.

Wardrobes first, then the rest of the house
Fitted wardrobes remain the heart of the business: hinged, sliding, walk-in, loft and over-bed wardrobes in our door styles and more than a hundred finishes, with interiors planned around what you own. Around them we now design and make fitted bedroom furniture, dressing tables, bedside cabinets and chests of drawers, all from the same workshop.
Beyond the bedroom, the same designers and joiners produce fitted kitchens, utility and laundry rooms, media walls, home offices and libraries, under-stairs storage, window seating and bar units. One designer handles the whole house, one workshop makes it, and one guarantee covers it.

Made in Wembley, filmed on the floor

Design consultation at home
Your designer visits, takes precise measurements and discusses your ideas, storage requirements and style preferences. Samples and colour swatches are brought to your home.
3D visuals and proposal
Within two to three days you receive full 3D visuals of the proposed furniture and an itemised quotation, so you see exactly how it will look before a single panel is cut. Revisions are included as standard.
Confirm your order
When you are happy with the design and the quote, you confirm your order. Production begins immediately at our Wembley workshop.
Installation within 21 days
Our own installation team arrives on the agreed date with everything needed. Most installations are completed in one to two days, cleanly, with the room left as they found it.
10-year guarantee
Once you are satisfied, and we do not leave until you are, you receive your 10-year guarantee certificate for the furniture we designed, made and installed.
