Beyond the wardrobe.
Most bedroom projects are furniture projects: a wardrobe wall goes in, and the bed, the lighting and the dressing area are dealt with separately, by different people, at different times. The result is a room of good individual pieces that never quite resolve.
A master suite commission treats the room as the unit of design rather than the furniture within it. The headboard is built into the wall composition rather than bolted to a bed. The lighting is drawn as three layers on separate circuits before any cabinet is made, so the cable routes exist rather than being chased in afterwards. The dressing area uses the same paint mix, the same handle family and the same shadow gaps as the wardrobes, because they were made in the same workshop batch in the same week. What you notice on the day it is finished is not any single element. It is that nothing in the room disagrees with anything else.

Bed & headboard
Upholstered or veneered headboards built into the wall composition, not bolted to the bed. Hidden storage in the base if required. Integrated bedside lighting and USB charging routed through the joinery. Choice of fabric, leather or matched timber face.
Wardrobe wall
Full-height bespoke wardrobes — hinged, sliding or walk-in entry — finished to match the rest of the suite. Internal lighting on motion sensors. Pull-out trays for jewellery and watches. Hanging rails specified by what they actually hold.
Dressing area
A dressing island, dresser bench or wall-mounted vanity — with proper task lighting, drawer-front pulls hidden, and surface materials chosen for daily use. Stone, hand-finished timber, leather inlay or matched paint.
Storage choreography
Every drawer specified by what it holds. Pull-outs for jewellery, ties, watches. Soft-close everywhere. Internal upholstery on premium drawers. Hidden laundry compartments where the brief calls for them. The internal life is where the real value sits.
Lighting design
Three lighting layers — ambient, task and accent — on separate dimmer circuits. Warm 2700K LED throughout. Hidden in shadow gaps and shelf edges. Reading lights at the bed. Wardrobe interiors on motion sensors that switch off when you do.
Acoustic detailing
Fabric-backed panels behind the bed, soft-close everything, felt-lined drawers and shelves. The room sounds quieter from the moment you walk in — particularly important above busy London streets or in mansion-block bedrooms.

Yes, and many are. A typical sequence is the wardrobe wall first, then the bed surround and headboard six to nine months later, then the dressing area and final detailing. Because we keep your full specification on file indefinitely — paint mixes, hardware codes, material samples — each phase matches the last exactly. Phasing spreads cost without compromising the result.
Allow 14 to 22 weeks from the first home visit to handover. Design development takes two to four weeks, workshop manufacture eight to twelve, and installation one to two weeks on site. Installation is sequenced so the room stays usable as long as possible: carcasses first, then doors and fronts, then dressing islands and finishing.

Yes — a substantial share of our suite commissions come through architects, interior designers and developers. We work to your team's drawings and aesthetic direction, integrate with their lighting and electrical schedules, attend design-development meetings on request, and provide CAD models for renders. If you're specifying for a client, say so at first contact rather than going through the consumer route.
Yes. We routinely integrate Lutron, Crestron, Control4 and Loxone into wardrobe interior lighting, bedside circuits, motorised shutters and integrated displays, with all cabling concealed within the joinery. Your designer coordinates with your smart-home installer during the design phase, so the cable routes exist before the joinery is manufactured rather than being retrofitted.
Metro handles the joinery, lighting integration and installation. For plastering, painting, flooring and electrical first fix we coordinate with your trades, or can recommend London contractors we've worked with over several years. Structural work — moving a wall, altering an opening — is a separate building project that should be complete before our installation begins.
