Furnish the room, not the wall

Fitted Bedroom Furniture means furnishing the room, not just the wall. The arrangement shown runs the Lincoln door across a full wardrobe with top boxes, then carries the same door and finish onto a desk under the window and a pair of bedside tables, so every piece in the room was drawn together.

The Lincoln is a raised-panel door: the centre panel stands proud of the frame with a moulded edge, which throws a shadow line around every panel and gives the run the depth of period joinery. On 75mm stiles the proportion is classical without being heavy.

How it works: an 18mm E1-grade MDF door, machined so the panel is raised and the moulding cut into the face, then wrapped in 5G vinyl that follows the profile. Long brass bar handles run vertically on the tall doors and horizontally on the drawers.

The greyed olive shown is one of the matt palette; the same door carries pale colours equally well, because the moulding provides the definition rather than the colour.

A raised panel is a machined profile, not an applied moulding, so the cutter path that shapes it has to be identical on every door — the wardrobe, the desk fronts and the bedsides — or the moulding depth visibly changes from piece to piece.

The raised-panel profile is one cutter path on the CNC, boards are nested on the beam saw, and drawer-runner holes for the desk and bedsides are drilled on the six-sided machine alongside the wardrobe hinges.
