Made-to-measure fitted wardrobes start from £900 per metre at Level 3 of our price guide, so a two-metre wardrobe from £1,800, including VAT, delivery and installation. The door style sets the level: mirror and glass doors from £1,020 per metre, 5G Vinyl wrapped designer doors from £1,140, shaker doors from £1,860, painted MDF £2,100, five-piece £2,400, and curved, aluminium-framed and timber-painted doors from £3,000 to £3,720 per metre. Walk-in dressing rooms, loft and over-bed wardrobes are priced on the same per-metre basis. Every quote is fixed in writing before you commit; your free home visit includes a fully itemised quotation with no deposit required.

Fitted wardrobes are built to your room's exact dimensions and run floor to ceiling and wall to wall, while freestanding wardrobes come in standard sizes and leave gaps above, beside and beneath them. In a typical London bedroom that dead space costs you roughly 30% of your potential storage. Fitted wardrobes also work around chimney breasts, alcoves and sloping ceilings, which freestanding units simply cannot do.

Your 3D design and itemised quotation arrive within two to three days of the home visit. Once you confirm, the furniture is made in our Wembley workshop and fitted within 21 days, usually one to two days on site. A larger multi-room commission takes longer, and the date is agreed with you at the visit.

Fitted wardrobes are treated as permanent joinery rather than removable furniture, so they form part of a property's fixtures and are assessed as an improvement rather than a possession you take with you. Estate agents consistently list built-in storage among the features buyers notice in master bedrooms and loft conversions, particularly in London, where floor space carries the highest premium in the UK. Actual uplift varies by property and area.

Small bedrooms are where fitted wardrobes deliver the biggest gain, because building floor to ceiling recovers the dead space a freestanding unit wastes above and around it. For rooms under roughly 3m wide we usually recommend sliding doors, which need no clearance in front, where hinged doors need around 600mm to open fully. We have fitted wardrobes into alcoves as narrow as 600mm.

Every carcass is built from 18mm moisture-resistant board, cut on a precision beam saw and CNC machining centre at our Wembley workshop. We make doors across six collections and over 100 painted finishes, plus wood veneers, glass and mirror. Soft-close hinges and drawer runners are included as standard on every wardrobe, not charged as an upgrade.

Choose hinged doors if you have at least 600mm of clear floor space in front of the wardrobe and want to see the whole interior at once. Choose sliding doors if the room is tight, a bed or radiator sits close to the wardrobe, or you want mirror panels across the full run. Sliding doors give you access to roughly half the wardrobe at a time; hinged doors give you all of it.

Yes. This is the main reason to choose bespoke over flat-pack. We hand-measure every wall, return and roofline, then manufacture each component to those exact dimensions. Victorian chimney breasts, loft conversions with sloping eaves, bay window returns and boxed-in pipework are all routine. Nothing is cut to a standard size and adjusted on site with filler panels.

Yes, and it is included rather than quoted separately. Our fitters take out your existing wardrobes on the first day of installation and remove the waste when they leave. Where the old units were built in, making good the wall behind them is included. You will normally want to decorate afterwards, and most clients arrange a decorator for the week after we finish.

Every Metro wardrobe carries a 10-year guarantee covering both manufacturing and installation: carcasses, doors, painted finishes, hinges, drawer runners and alignment. Because we design, manufacture and install in-house from our own Wembley workshop, there is one point of contact if anything needs attention, with no dispute between supplier and fitter. Hinge and runner mechanisms carry their own separate manufacturer warranty.
