Most fitted wardrobe companies will not put a number in writing until a designer is sitting on your sofa. We would rather you knew before you called. This is what fitted wardrobes cost in London in 2026, taken from our own quotations, with everything that moves the price explained. Every figure includes VAT, delivery and installation by our own fitters.

How the price per metre works

Every made-to-measure Metro wardrobe is priced per linear metre on a twelve-level guide, so you can work out a starting figure from the width of your wall before anyone visits. Two runs of the same width can still differ because one has slab doors and a simple interior and the other has shaker doors, a drawer bank and lighting, which is why the level matters and why the quotation is itemised so you can see where every pound goes. Prices on our website are starting points; the exact figure is fixed from measurements taken in your room.

The twelve Metro levels

Levels 1 and 2 are factory-built freestanding modules priced per 800mm unit, with a minimum order of three to four units. From Level 3 every wardrobe is made to measure and priced per linear metre. Every level shares Wembley manufacture, installation by our own team and a 10-year guarantee; you pay more only for door style, finishes, interior and fitting detail. All figures include VAT, delivery and installation.

What moves the price, and by how much

  • Width and layout. Every extra metre means more carcases and more doors. Awkward rooms with sloping ceilings, alcoves and chimney breasts take more design and cutting time and sit at the top of each range.
  • Door style. Slab doors are the benchmark. Frame-and-panel shaker construction takes more machining and finishing and sits at Level 6 of our price guide, £1,860 per metre against £900 for slab. Painted, five-piece, curved, aluminium-framed and timber doors sit above that.
  • Finish. Standard woodgrains and painted-effect boards are included. Super-matt and textured boards and the wider palette sit at Level 4, £1,020 per metre.
  • Interior. Pull-out rails, shoe racks and jewellery drawers fit within the standard unit price. A premium interior board adds around £200 per wardrobe; LED lighting is around £100 per light.
  • Extras. Black hardware is about £220 per wardrobe; removal and disposal of old wardrobes is itemised at £150.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a double fitted wardrobe cost?

A made-to-measure double wardrobe about one metre wide starts from around £900 at Level 3 of our price guide with slab doors, or £1,860 with shaker doors at Level 6, including VAT and installation. A two-metre wardrobe starts at £1,800.

Do your prices include VAT and fitting?

Yes. Every price we publish and every quotation we issue includes VAT, delivery and installation by our own fitters. Nothing is added at the end.

How much are sliding wardrobes compared with hinged?

Sliding wardrobes start from £900 per metre, or £1,020 per metre with mirror or glass doors, so a three-door sliding wardrobe about three metres wide comes to £2,700 to £3,060. Hinged and sliding doors are priced on the same per-metre guide; the door style and the interior move the figure more than the door type.

Is there a deposit at the design visit?

No. The visit, the 3D design and the itemised quotation are free and carry no obligation. A deposit is taken only when you place an order.

Why is the quotation itemised rather than a flat price per metre?

The price guide gives the starting price per metre for each level, but two wardrobes of the same width can still differ depending on the interior, lighting and extras. A drawing-based quotation is fixed and itemised, so the price you agree is the price you pay.
