About This Style

A high gloss fitted wardrobe does two things for a London bedroom: it returns daylight to the room, and it makes the wall of storage read as one calm, reflective plane. This run is built on the Phoenix door from our Edged collection, in high gloss light grey, wrapping the bed wall from floor to ceiling with bridging units over the bed, bedside drawer towers, a dressing table and mirror at one end, and a lit fluted panel behind the headboard.

How it works: the Phoenix is an edged door. An 18mm E1-grade MDF board is cut to size, a high-gloss foil is bonded flat to the face under pressure, and a 1mm ABS edge is fused to all four sides, matching the face or in a multiplex or glass-effect line. The board is specified for high scratch resistance and a highly durable core, and the doors can be made to measure up to 2400mm high and 1200mm wide. Shown with slim black bar handles; an integrated top-edge handle rail is available if you prefer no handles on the face.

Make it yours: eight high-gloss finishes, white, ivory, cashmere, light grey, dust grey, graphite, black and metallic anthracite, with interiors in any of our carcass colours. Floor-to-ceiling runs, over-bed bridges, dressing tables and drawer towers are all cut to your exact room in our Wembley workshop.

Every high-gloss wardrobe is designed at a free home visit, made to measure in North London, and installed by our own fitters with a 10-year guarantee.

High Gloss Fitted Wardrobes London

Gloss for rooms that get used, not just looked at

High gloss earns its place in a London bedroom by doing what paint cannot: a wall of reflective doors returns daylight to a north-facing room and makes a modest bedroom read a size larger. Light grey is the most forgiving of the gloss colours, warm enough to sit with timber floors and cool enough for white walls, which is why it is the finish shown here.

The Phoenix is the door to choose when that gloss has to last. It is cut and edged rather than wrapped: the gloss face is bonded flat to an 18mm E1-grade core and a 1mm ABS edge is fused to every side, so the corners that take the knocks are the hardest part of the door. Designed at your home, made in our Wembley workshop and fitted by our own team, with a 10-year guarantee.

Where We Work

High gloss fitted wardrobes across London and the Home Counties

Metro's workshop and showroom are in Wembley, North London (HA9), and we design and install high gloss fitted wardrobes throughout Greater London and the surrounding counties. A gloss run is measured to the millimetre at the free home design visit, because a reflective face shows any gap or step that a matt door would hide.

“A wonderful experience from start to finish. I designed four wardrobes — the team's expertise and flexibility were outstanding. Every person I dealt with was warm, professional and genuinely invested in getting it right.”

“They’ve done a great job from start to finish. I’ve had to deal with so many builders, handymen etc. due to a complete house refurbishment and I can honestly say Metro was one of the rarest ones that didn’t cause any headache. We’ve asked them to a wardrobe for the porch and a shoe cabinet opposite to that one but the shoe cabinet area wasn’t ready to be installed yet at the time of delivery so they’ve come back again after a few weeks and completed everything perfectly. I’d like to thank especially the last installation team, sorry don’t know their names.”

NesliopeGoogle review

“This guys done more than excellent work. It’s the best wardrobe than I ever seen, and it’s for my house. IKEA’s wardrobes look like fake ones, in comparison with this one!! Totally recommend it!”

Frequently Asked Questions

High gloss fitted wardrobes: your questions answered

What is an edged wardrobe door?
A door made by cutting an 18mm board to size, bonding the face finish to it and fusing a separate 1mm ABS edge to all four sides, rather than wrapping one skin around the whole door. The Phoenix is the high-gloss door in our Edged collection; the Tribeca is the superior matt version and the Vaasa the woodgrain MFC version.
Is a bonded gloss door as good as a wrapped gloss door?
For a bedroom that gets used, it is the tougher choice. The fused ABS edge is harder than the face and takes the knocks a wardrobe edge collects, and the face is specified for high scratch resistance. A wrapped door has a seamless corner; an edged door has a stronger one.
Does high gloss show fingermarks?
Around handles, yes, on any gloss surface, which is why this run uses slim bar handles so fingers never touch the face. A soft dry cloth keeps the face bright and it never needs polishing. If you would rather avoid marks altogether, the same door comes in superior matt as the Tribeca.
Which colours does the Phoenix come in?
Eight high-gloss finishes: white, ivory, cashmere, light grey, dust grey, graphite, black and metallic anthracite. The edge can match the face, or be specified as a multiplex or glass-effect line if you want the edge to read as a fine detail.
How much does a high gloss fitted wardrobe cost in London?
Most complete projects come to between £2,400 and £8,500 including VAT, delivery and installation, depending on the width of the run and what goes inside. The over-bed arrangement shown, with a dressing table and lit panel, sits at the upper end. Your exact figure is confirmed in a written itemised quotation after the free home design visit.
Are Metro wardrobes made in the UK?
Yes. Every wardrobe is made in our own Wembley, North London workshop and installed by our own fitters, with a 10-year guarantee.
