About This Style

Modern doesn’t have to mean featureless. The Oslo door is a clean slab with one precise act of tailoring — a fine groove routed 60mm in from each edge, so a wall of wardrobes carries a quiet pinstripe rhythm instead of a blank stare. It is the door we recommend when a room needs contemporary calm with just enough detail to feel finished.

How it works: each door is an 18mm E1-grade MDF core (PEFC/FSC® accredited); the grooves are routed first, then the whole face is wrapped in one thermoformed skin so the detail is sealed under a continuous surface. Doors hang on soft-close Blum hinges and finish in a soft 25mm swept edge that eases each door into its neighbour.

Make it yours: the deep blue shown is one of 90+ finishes — matt, superior matt, gloss and woodgrain — with ten Kronospan interior colours. Floor-to-ceiling runs, alcove builds, walk-ins and corners, all cut to your exact room in our Wembley workshop.

Every modern fitted wardrobe is designed at a free home visit, made to measure in North London, and installed by our own fitters with a 10-year guarantee.

Modern Fitted Wardrobes London

Modern, with a pulse

The risk with modern fitted wardrobes is blankness — a wall of flat doors that reads more like hoarding than furniture. The Oslo solves it with a single tailored move: fine grooves routed a hand’s width from each edge, giving every door a pinstripe frame that catches shadow as the light moves. The effect is quiet enough to disappear at a glance and rich enough to reward a second one.

Like every wardrobe we make, the Oslo is built to your measured room in our Wembley workshop — floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall, around alcoves and into corners — in 90+ finishes with ten interior colours, and installed by our own fitters with a 10-year guarantee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Modern fitted wardrobes: your questions answered

What makes a fitted wardrobe “modern”?
Clean slab faces, minimal or integrated hardware, floor-to-ceiling proportions and finishes chosen for texture rather than ornament. The Oslo adds one tailored detail — a fine routed groove near each edge — so the wall reads considered rather than blank.
How much does a modern fitted wardrobe cost in London?
Most complete projects come to £2,400 – £8,500 including delivery and installation, depending on width and internals. Your exact figure is confirmed in a written itemised quote after the free home design visit.
Is the groove routed or applied?
Routed — the grooves are machined into the 18mm core before the seamless skin is applied, so the detail sits under the same continuous surface as the face. Nothing is stuck on, so nothing can peel.
Which colours and finishes are available?
The deep blue shown is one of 90+ finishes across matt, superior matt, gloss and woodgrain, with ten interior colours. Your designer brings physical swatches to your home.
Are Metro wardrobes made in the UK?
Yes — every wardrobe is made in our own Wembley, North London workshop and installed by our own fitters, with a 10-year guarantee.
Door Edge Detail

The 6 Edge Profiles

The Six Edge Profiles

The Oslo door is supplied with Profile Edge 5 — a soft sweeping 25mm taper that eases the edge into the face.
01
Chamfered OSLO
18mm or 22mm core, with a soft 3mm radius on the top-front edge. The most popular profile across in-frame and contemporary doors.

02
10mm Stepped Chamfer
18mm core with a 10mm chamfered step on the top edge — adds a subtle bevel that catches the light at the door's top line.

03
1mm Chamfered Edge
A near-sharp edge with a 1mm chamfer — gives doors a crisp, architectural feel. Common on slab and minimalist styles.

04
20mm Stepped Profile
A pronounced 20mm step that creates a defined shadow line along the top edge. Adds visible architectural detail to flat-panel styles.

05
25mm Gentle Curve
A wide 25mm rolled edge — the softest profile in the range. Reads as a hand-shaped, traditional joinery detail. Often paired with shaker and panelled designs.
