Door Construction

Inside the Isadora sliding door

Aluminium-framed sliding panels in cashmere with one mirror · 200mm supporting frame behind · lit open bays either side

Why this build matters

No Swing Space

The sliding doors run across the front of the wardrobe, so the bed and the desk can sit closer to it

Lit Open Bays

Shelving either side of the doors and above the desk carries an LED strip in every bay

Desk on the Same Line

The desk niche and the window seat are cut from the same carcass line as the wardrobe, so every top and rail lines through

About This Style

The Isadora Fitted Bedroom Furniture turns a bedroom into a place to sleep, dress and work. A cashmere sliding wardrobe with a mirror panel fills the wall opposite the bed, lit open shelving stands either side of it, a fitted desk sits in its own lit niche beside the window, and a cushioned window seat with storage beneath finishes the run.

The five renders show the room from the bed and from the door, the wardrobe open and closed, and the desk niche. Made to your walls in Wembley, installed by the team that built it, with ten years of cover on every part.

Fitted Bedroom Furniture

Isadora Fitted Bedroom Furniture

The Isadora is a bedroom drawn as one piece of furniture. The wardrobe wall opposite the bed is a cashmere sliding run with one mirror panel, and the lit open shelving either side of it carries books and objects rather than clutter. Round the corner, the same carcass line drops to desk height in a lit niche and then to a window seat, so sleeping, working and reading each have a place.

How it works: aluminium-framed sliding panels in cashmere and mirror run on top and bottom tracks in front of a 200mm supporting frame, with soft-close on every door. The desk and window seat are made-to-measure carcasses with soft-close drawers, and every open bay carries an LED strip.

Designed around how you use your room

Sliding wardrobe with one mirror panel opposite the bed
Lit open shelving either side of the wardrobe
Fitted desk with drawers in a lit niche by the window
Cushioned window seat with lift-up storage
Frame-edge pulls on the sliding doors, slim bars on the drawers
Light oak interiors, LED strips in every bay

Built for everyday use: 18mm carcasses with a solid 18mm back, top and bottom; the sliding doors run on anti-jump rollers; the desk top is made to the same height as a standard desk.

The Isadora shown measures about 4200mm along the wardrobe wall and 2400mm along the desk and window wall, 2500mm high. Yours is made to your walls.

Manufactured in our Wembley workshop

Every carcass of the Isadora is cut in our HA9 Wembley factory to the survey of your room, the sliding panels are cut and framed before they leave, and the run is hung and scribed on site by our own fitters.

The sliding frame is built to the opening so the mirror panel and the cashmere panels overlap by exactly 45mm, and the desk and seat carcasses are cut from the same sheet run as the wardrobe.

Quality you can rely on: your Metro fitted furniture comes with a 10-year guarantee covering parts and labour.

Isadora Fitted Bedroom Furniture FAQs

Why sliding doors in a bedroom with a desk?

Because they need no swing space. With the desk and the bed close to the wardrobe wall, hinged doors would foul the chair; sliding panels run across the front so the whole floor stays usable.

Can the desk be somewhere else?

Yes. It is drawn on the same carcass line as the wardrobe, so it can sit by the window as shown, in an alcove, or become a dressing table with a mirror instead.

What is behind the mirror panel?

Ordinary wardrobe storage: double hanging, shelves and drawers, lit from inside. The mirror is one of the sliding panels, so it reflects the window when closed and slides out of the way when you dress.

Is the window seat storage?

Yes, a lift-up lid over a deep box, sized to bedding or out-of-season clothes, with the cushion made to the seat.
