Inside the aluminium glass door
The lightest-looking door we make is also one of the most engineered: a 20.5mm aluminium profile — matt black, brushed bronze, champagne, gold or silver — wraps a full pane of toughened glass, hung on hinges designed specifically for aluminium frames. Choose smoked glass to soften the view, reeded to blur it beautifully, or clear to put a boutique-style interior on display; behind the glass, walnut, oak or lacquered interiors are finished to be seen.
Why this build matters
Notting Hill Glass Bay Fitted Wardrobe, Made to Measure in London
Built on the Aluminium Glass DoorA lit clear-glass display bay in gold aluminium frames, set in the centre of a sage green fluted run. Shown closed and open. Made in Wembley.
About This Style
The Notting Hill is the most practical way to use glass in a wardrobe: one lit display bay, planned as a piece of furniture, in a run that otherwise works like any wardrobe. Four clear-glass doors in gold aluminium frames sit at the centre of a sage green fluted run, so the things you are proud of are on show and the everyday hanging stays behind painted doors either side.
How it works: the 20.5mm aluminium profile carries toughened clear glass on hinges engineered for metal frames, and the fluted painted doors either side are hinged fitted doors in the same run. Behind the glass the interior is finished as furniture: oak shelving, drawers with finished fronts, shoe shelves and LED lighting worked into the design, because you will look at it every day. The second image shows the whole run open.
Make it yours: frames in gold as shown, or matt black, brushed bronze, champagne or silver; glazing clear, smoked or reeded; the painted doors in any of our colours, fluted or plain. Every carcass is cut to your room in our Wembley workshop.
Every glass wardrobe is designed at a free home visit, made to measure in North London, and installed by our own fitters with a 10-year guarantee.

Trusted by London homeowners
“I would recommend this company. They delivered a very good wardrobe and a very good service too throughout the project.”
“I was very pleased with my wardrobe fitted by Metro. By having a custom design I could have exactly the spacing and layout I wanted. They came out to me so we could match the colour to my existing inbuilt wardrobe. Any changes I wanted in the design Mike was quick to do and send me updated previews. It also came in considerably cheaper than a well known wardrobes brand. A couple of snagging issues as you'd expect, and other than some mild chasing I had to do they put it right and all was good. I'd happily recommend them.”
“I'm delighted with the new metro fitted wardrobes, the bedroom is completely transformed. Very stylish, high quality finish. Very impressed with the service from first enquiry through to final installation. I would highly recommend. Thanks to Mike who designed the wardrobe, Palak for excellent customer service and special Thanks to Pappu Patel and his team for converting the design into practicality.”
