Bath Sliding Wardrobe

The Bath Sliding Wardrobe combines contemporary sliding-door design with a strong, made-to-measure internal structure, creating generous bedroom storage without requiring additional floor space for doors to open into the room. The combination of Walnut Woodgrain panels and full-height mirror sections gives the wardrobe a clean, modern appearance while helping reflect light around the bedroom.

How it works: the doors slide horizontally across the front of the wardrobe rather than opening outwards. Behind the sliding system, we construct a 200mm-wide internal MFC panel frame, finished to match the selected wardrobe carcass.

This 200mm-wide frame forms an important structural part of the wardrobe. It is designed to support the overall weight of the sliding doors while providing a strong and stable structure for the top and bottom tracks on which the sliding doors run.

The sliding doors can be personalised using different horizontal and vertical panel configurations, profile finishes, mirrors and glass finishes. For the Bath wardrobe, the relevant profile options are Prestige and Supreme. Mirror choices include Silver Mirror, Grey Mirror and Bronze Mirror, alongside a broad selection of glass finishes.

Designed around how you use your room

Your storage is not limited to a row of hanging rails. Depending on your design, your made-to-measure sliding wardrobe can include:

  • Hanging rails for shirts, dresses and coats
  • Adjustable shelves
  • Internal drawers
  • Shoe storage
  • Accessory compartments
  • Internal lighting
  • Tall and full-height storage
  • Custom combinations of hanging and shelving

Built for everyday use: the Bath shown here has a Cashmere interior and measures 3600mm wide × 2400mm high × 680mm deep, providing substantial storage behind its streamlined sliding frontage.

The wardrobe is designed around the actual dimensions of your room, while the internal configuration can be adapted around your individual storage requirements. The 200mm MFC supporting frame is finished in the same selected carcass finish, helping the structural framework integrate cleanly with the rest of the wardrobe.

The exterior can also be personalised through different sliding-door configurations. Metro’s sliding collection includes a wide choice of horizontal and vertical designs, allowing combinations of panels, mirrors and glass to create a wardrobe suited to the room and your preferred style.

“We found Metro Wardrobes on the internet and without a personal recommendations we were a bit worried. However, they fitted beautiful wardrobes in two bedrooms. Good finish in a short time and clean and tidy fitters. Price was better than anywhere else we got a quote from. Would highly recommend.”

“They’ve done a great job from start to finish. I’ve had to deal with so many builders, handymen etc. due to a complete house refurbishment and I can honestly say Metro was one of the rarest ones that didn’t cause any headache. We’ve asked them to a wardrobe for the porch and a shoe cabinet opposite to that one but the shoe cabinet area wasn’t ready to be installed yet at the time of delivery so they’ve come back again after a few weeks and completed everything perfectly. I’d like to thank especially the last installation team, sorry don’t know their names.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Bath Sliding Wardrobe FAQs

Do sliding doors need clearance in front of the wardrobe?
No — that is the main reason to choose them. The doors slide horizontally across the front rather than swinging outwards, so no floor space has to be kept clear for a door to open into. It is what makes a sliding wardrobe work opposite a bed or in a narrow room where a hinged door would not.
What is the 200mm frame behind the doors for?
It is structural. Behind the sliding system we build a 200mm-wide internal MFC panel frame that carries the weight of the doors and provides a stable structure for the top and bottom tracks they run on. It is finished in your selected carcass finish so it reads as part of the wardrobe rather than as visible framework.
Why is a sliding wardrobe deeper than a hinged one?
The Bath is 680mm deep, which is the standard depth for a sliding wardrobe. The doors sit on tracks in front of the storage rather than on hinges at its edge, so the running gear takes up depth that a hinged wardrobe does not need. In return you lose no floor space in front of it.
Can I change the door panels, mirrors and profiles?
Yes. The Bath is shown with Walnut Woodgrain panels and full-height mirror centre panels, but the doors can be laid out in horizontal or vertical configurations. Profiles come in Prestige and Supreme; profile finishes include Silver, White, Black Gloss, Black Matt, Champagne, Cashmere and Gun Metal. Mirrors are available in Silver, Grey or Bronze, alongside a broad range of glass finishes.
Do the mirrored doors run as smoothly as the panelled ones?
Yes. A full-height mirror door is heavier than a panelled one, which is exactly why the 200mm frame and the track structure behind it are specified to carry that weight. The doors run on a soft-close sliding mechanism, so they are drawn to a stop rather than meeting the end of the track.
How much does the Bath Sliding Wardrobe cost?
The layout shown — 3600mm wide, 2400mm high and 680mm deep with a Cashmere interior — is from £3,672 including delivery and installation. Every wardrobe is made to measure, so your exact price is confirmed in writing after the free home design visit.
