The Dylan is the smooth-suited member of the 5-Piece collection: the same true five-piece construction — two 75mm stiles, two rails, a floating panel, dowelled and glued from 22mm MDF — but wrapped in a subtle matt microtexture vinyl rather than woodgrain. The result is a calm, paint-like surface that shrugs off fingerprints, with the honest shadow lines of real joinery. Panel layouts run from a clean single panel to four, plus a full-height mirror option.

About This Style

Grey remains the colour London asks for by name — and this is grey done properly: a warm stone-grey with real depth, on a door whose five-piece construction gives the flat colour architecture. This is the Dylan, shown with black bar handles and a floating shadow gap, the room lifted by a sculptural chandelier.

How it works: two 75mm French-cut stiles, two rails and a floating centre panel, joined with 8mm beech dowels and PVA from 22mm MDF — then wrapped in a subtle matt microtexture vinyl that reads as flawless paint and behaves far better: no brush marks, no chips, no polished patches at the handles. 1mm ABS end caps and soft 1.5mm radius edges finish each door.

Make it yours: the full matt palette — soft whites, greys from pale to slate, and deep heritage tones — with ten interior colours. Single, three or four-panel layouts, or a full-height mirror; floor-to-ceiling runs, alcoves, walk-ins and corners, all cut in our Wembley workshop.

The Grey Shaker Fitted Wardrobe combines a true five-piece Shaker door with a warm grey matt finish, creating a fitted wardrobe that has the proportions and depth of traditional framed furniture while still working comfortably in a contemporary bedroom.

The wardrobe shown here uses Metro’s Dylan door, a genuine five-piece construction made from two vertical stiles, two horizontal rails and a floating centre panel. The subtle matt microtexture finish gives the grey surface a softer, paint-like appearance, while the individual door components create natural shadow lines and definition across the wardrobe frontage.

How it works: each Dylan door is manufactured from 22mm E1-grade MDF, using 75mm stiles, rails and a floating centre panel. The five components are joined using 8mm beech dowels and PVA adhesive before the door is finished in matt microtexture vinyl.

This construction matters because the Shaker appearance comes from the actual five-piece door structure, rather than from routing a Shaker pattern into the face of a flat slab door.

The Dylan can be configured as a Single Panel, Single Panel with Mirror, 3 Panel or 4 Panel door, with a broad matt colour palette available beyond the warm grey finish shown here.
