Devonshire Fitted Bedroom Furniture

The Devonshire Fitted Bedroom Furniture is a wall planned from the middle outwards. At its centre a dressing recess is cut into the run — a round mirror on a lit back panel, a drawer beneath it and a stool in front — and either side of it three tall wardrobe doors run to the ceiling. At each end a lit display column closes the wall, so the first and last things you see are shelves of books and shoes rather than a door.

The finish is Reed Green, a soft grey-green that reads as a wall colour from across the room, with black profile handles running the height of each door. Inside, every carcass is Natural Casella Oak.

How it works: the wardrobes, the recess and the columns are one carcass line, built from 18mm E1-grade board with the shaker doors wrapped in Reed Green and hung on concealed soft-close hinges. The recess is a lined opening with an LED strip along its top edge and behind the mirror; the display columns are open carcasses with a strip in each bay. The whole wall is scribed to the ceiling.

The profile handle is a slim black channel let into the door edge, so the face of each door is plain and the handles read as six thin vertical lines across the green.

Designed around how you use your room

A dressing table in the wall keeps the floor clear; display columns at the ends keep the wardrobe from reading as a row of cupboards.

Built for everyday use: 18mm carcasses with a solid 18mm back, top and bottom, and wrapped doors that wipe clean. The mirror is bonded to its back panel and safety-backed.

Manufactured in our Wembley workshop

A wall with a recess in the middle has to be symmetrical about it, so the Devonshire is set out from the centre line of the mirror in our HA9 Wembley factory: the recess carcass first, three doors either side cut to the same widths, and the columns cut to whatever the wall leaves at each end.

The doors are routed and wrapped before they leave, the recess is routed for its LED channels, and the run is hung and scribed on site by our own fitters.
