Standalone bedroom commissions · Built to match

Individual pieces.Singular character.

Not every commission is a whole bedroom. Sometimes the brief is one considered piece — a chest of drawers worth keeping for thirty years, a pair of bedsides that match the existing wardrobes, an island dresser drawn for a specific dressing room. Each piece built to the same standard as our full-room commissions.

Vilo
A single piece, properly drawn

Sometimes the room
only needs one thing.

Most fitted-furniture studios won't take single-piece commissions — the margins are tighter, the lead times less efficient, the workshop scheduling more complex. We take them anyway, because some of the most considered work we do is a single piece of joinery commissioned to live alongside furniture you've owned for years.

Four piece categories below. Each can be commissioned alone, in pairs, or as a set. All built in our Wembley workshop, all with our 10-year guarantee, all priced after a home visit so the piece is drawn to the room it'll live in.

Commissioning a single piece?

Single-piece commissions follow the same home-visit process as full-room work. Our senior designer brings the material library, measures the room, takes photographs, and confirms the piece will live well alongside your existing furniture. Lead times typically 8-12 weeks for individual pieces.

Investment

Single pieces, fully bespoke.

Individual chest-of-drawers commissions start at £2,800 for a compact 4-drawer piece. Bedside pairs typically run £2,800–£6,800. Over-the-bed units run £3,800–£8,500. Island dressers — our most architectural single-piece commission — typically reach £5,400–£18,000 depending on size, materials and surface treatment.

Every piece is priced after a home visit so the proportions are right for the room. We do not quote single pieces from a catalogue.

Individual Pieces · FAQ

Questions clients ask at the first visit.

Where you're keeping existing furniture, our designer visits with material samples to identify the closest match in our paint, veneer or fabric library. Where the match is critical (an antique piece you want the new commission to harmonise with) we can colour-match to a sample to within 2-3% tonal accuracy.

Yes — particularly the Bachelor's chest, dressing bench and bedside pair commissions. We can arrange discreet delivery, gift documentation and your specification kept on file under a different name. Lead time should allow 12 weeks minimum for gift commissions.

Typically yes — single pieces fit between full-room commissions in our workshop schedule, so they sometimes wait for a production slot. Expect 8-12 weeks for chests, bedsides and over-the-bed units; 10-14 weeks for island dressers. Full-bedroom commissions have priority because they tie up workshop capacity for longer.

Always — your original design specification (paint mix, hardware code, dimensions, internal details) is kept on file indefinitely. Want to add a matching dressing island three years after the bedroom? Same paint, same hinges, same proportions. This is one of the reasons we keep the specification on file.

Ten years, parts and labour, on every cabinet, door, drawer mechanism, finish and integrated lighting fixture. Same guarantee as our full-room commissions — single pieces are not built to a lesser standard.

Ten years, covering all parts and labour — every cabinet, drawer mechanism, hinge, light fitting and painted surface. Most Metro walk-ins are still running on original hardware after fifteen years. The guarantee is transferable to a new owner.
