Grace Mirror Hinged Wardrobe

The Grace Mirror Hinged Wardrobe is the mirrored version of a white slab run: two full-height mirrored doors at the centre, four plain Premium White doors either side, and black profile handles on the solid doors only, so the mirrors carry nothing but the reflection.

It is the wardrobe for a bedroom that has no wall for a mirror. The mirrored pair gives you a full-length view of yourself from the middle of the room, and doubles the daylight from the window opposite.

How it works: the solid doors are 18mm MFC slabs in Premium White. The two central doors carry a mirror bonded to the whole door face and safety-backed, so there is no frame and no edge for the eye to catch — the mirror is the door. All six hang on concealed soft-close hinges rated for the weight of the glass, and the profile handles are let into the edges of the solid doors.

Keeping the mirrors to the centre pair matters: two mirrored doors read as a feature, six read as a wall of glass.

Manufactured in our Wembley workshop

A mirrored door has to hang exactly level with its neighbour, or the reflection shows the step. The Grace Mirror’s doors are cut on the beam saw in our HA9 Wembley factory to one reveal and the hinge positions drilled on the CNC, so the mirrored pair and the white doors either side sit flush.

The mirrors are cut to the door, bonded and backed before delivery, and the run is hung on site by our own fitters.

Why only two mirrored doors?
Because two is a feature and six is a wall of glass. A mirrored pair at the centre gives you a full-length view and doubles the light, and the white doors either side keep the run calm; a run entirely in mirror makes a bedroom restless and shows every mark. If you want more, the end pair can be mirrored as well.
Is the mirror framed?
No — it is bonded to the whole face of the door and safety-backed, so the door is the mirror from edge to edge with no frame and no lip. That is what makes the pair read as a single sheet of glass in the run. The Harewood over-bed wardrobe takes the other approach, with mirrors set inside shaker frames.
How do the mirrored doors open?
On concealed soft-close hinges rated for the weight of the glass, and with no handle — the profile handles are on the solid doors only, and the mirrored pair opens from its edge, so nothing sits on the reflection. The doors are hung to one reveal so the two mirrors meet flush.
Does this differ from the Grace Hinged Wardrobe?

The Three Edge Details

On a slab run the edges are what the eye reads between the doors and where the run meets the walls. These are the details we work to. Your designer specifies them at the survey.

1mm ABS Square Edge GRACE MIRROR DOOR
The standard edge on a flush slab: a 1mm ABS band in the same decor as the face, applied by machine and trimmed square, so the door reads as one flat piece with a crisp line at its edge. It is the edge on the bridging cabinets of every over-bed run, where a row of small doors wants the cleanest possible line.

2mm ABS Softened Edge
A thicker 2mm band with the corner softened to a small radius. It shrugs off knocks better than a square 1mm edge, which matters on the doors and drawer fronts at bedside height — the ones opened every night — and on any tower door a child reaches. Specified per door, so the bridge can stay square while the bedside goes softened.

Scribed Wall Edge
Where a tower meets the wall or the ceiling, its end panel is cut to the line of the plaster at your survey and then banded, so the wardrobe closes against the wall without a filler strip. On an over-bed run both towers are scribed, and the bridge between them is made to the gap that leaves — which is why the whole wall has to be measured before anything is cut.
