About This Style

The most common regret we hear at design visits: “our old wardrobes stopped a foot short of the ceiling.” That foot is where the dust lives and the suitcases don’t fit. A floor-to-ceiling fitted wardrobe uses every millimetre of your room’s height — and this one does it on the Rana handleless door, whose finger groove runs half the height of each door so even a 2.4-metre door opens from wherever your hand happens to be.

How it works: each door is an 18mm E1-grade MDF core (PEFC/FSC® accredited) wrapped in one thermoformed skin — face, groove and edges sealed as a single piece, with a clean square edge softened by a 3mm radius. Doors hang on soft-close Blum hinges; drawer fronts carry a matching scooped grip. Because every unit is made to your measured ceiling height — not a stock size — there is no filler panel and no wasted void.

Make it yours: the rich royal blue shown is one of 90+ finishes — matt, superior matt, gloss and woodgrain — with ten Kronospan interior colours. Straight runs, alcoves, sloped-ceiling lofts, walk-ins and corners, all cut in our Wembley workshop.

Every floor-to-ceiling wardrobe is designed at a free home visit, made to measure in North London, and installed by our own fitters with a 10-year guarantee.

Floor to Ceiling Wardrobes London

The case for using every millimetre

London bedrooms are rarely generous, which is exactly why the gap above a freestanding wardrobe hurts: in a typical room, building to the ceiling adds the equivalent of a whole extra cupboard — deep top boxes for suitcases, spare duvets and the things you need twice a year. A floor-to-ceiling run also does something subtler: with no shadow gap above, the wardrobe reads as architecture rather than furniture, and the room looks taller for it.

The Rana door was chosen for this build because its groove runs half the height of every door — full-height doors that open from any point, with no handles to interrupt the face. Each project is measured and made in our Wembley workshop: straight runs, alcoves, sloped ceilings and corners, in 90+ finishes with ten interior colours, installed by our own fitters with a 10-year guarantee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Floor-to-ceiling wardrobes: your questions answered

Can fitted wardrobes really go right to the ceiling?
Yes — because each unit is made to your measured ceiling height rather than bought in stock sizes, the wardrobe finishes flush to the ceiling with no filler strip and no dust shelf. Coving and uneven ceilings are scribed to on site.
How do you open a door that tall without a handle?
The Rana door’s finger groove runs half the height of every door — roughly from your knees to your shoulders on a full-height door — so you simply hook your fingers into the shadow line wherever your hand falls and pull.
How much does a floor-to-ceiling fitted wardrobe cost in London?
Most complete projects come to £2,400 – £8,500 including delivery and installation, depending on width and internals. Going full-height adds storage, not complexity — your exact figure is confirmed in a written itemised quote after the free home design visit.
What happens with sloped or uneven ceilings?
We build to the slope — angled-top doors and carcasses are cut to follow the ceiling line, a speciality of our loft wardrobe work. The home visit measures every height across the run, not just one corner.
Which colours and finishes are available?
The royal blue shown is one of 90+ finishes across matt, superior matt, gloss and woodgrain, with ten interior colours. Your designer brings physical swatches to your home.
Door Edge Detail

The 6 Edge Profiles

The Six Edge Profiles

The Rana door is supplied with Profile Edge 1 — a clean square edge with a soft 3mm radius.
01
Chamfered RANA
18mm or 22mm core, with a soft 3mm radius on the top-front edge. The most popular profile across in-frame and contemporary doors.

02
10mm Stepped Chamfer
18mm core with a 10mm chamfered step on the top edge — adds a subtle bevel that catches the light at the door's top line.

03
1mm Chamfered Edge
A near-sharp edge with a 1mm chamfer — gives doors a crisp, architectural feel. Common on slab and minimalist styles.

04
20mm Stepped Profile
A pronounced 20mm step that creates a defined shadow line along the top edge. Adds visible architectural detail to flat-panel styles.

05
25mm Gentle Curve
A wide 25mm rolled edge — the softest profile in the range. Reads as a hand-shaped, traditional joinery detail. Often paired with shaker and panelled designs.
