MFC — melamine-faced chipboard — is the universal cabinet board of the European furniture industry, produced to the same exacting specification by the leading European board mills: a stable chipboard core with a hard-wearing melamine décor face fused to both sides. Every Metro door and panel is machined from premium E1-grade board in our own Wembley workshop — cut to your exact sizes, with each edge banded in the same colour — so the door face, its edges and the carcass all read as one material.

Annabelle Hinged Wardrobe

The Annabelle is the largest project in the hinged range — 6500mm of storage that turns a corner, bridges the bedroom doorway and gives up part of its run to a built-in dressing table. It is a room being fitted out, rather than a wardrobe being placed against a wall.

How it works: the doors are flush slabs on 18mm MFC with black bar handles paired on the double doors. Across a run this long the wardrobe is built as a series of separate carcasses joined on site rather than as one continuous box, which is what keeps the elevation straight when the walls behind it are not.

The dressing table sits between two drawer banks with its own top, so it reads as part of the wardrobe rather than as furniture pushed into a gap. Above the bedroom door, a bridging unit carries the run across the opening instead of stopping either side of it.

Designed around how you use your room

A run this size is planned in zones rather than as one long cupboard. Depending on your design, the Annabelle can include:

Built for everyday use: each bay is its own 18mm MFC E1 Grade carcass with a solid 18mm back, top and bottom. Building it as separate cabinets rather than one long box is what stops a 6500mm run following any bow in the wall and throwing the shelves out of level.

Manufactured in our Wembley workshop

Your wardrobe is made to measure and precision-manufactured in our HA9 Wembley factory, from the design approved at your home visit through to the finished components. A wrap-around run has to be set out as one drawing even though it crosses two walls and a doorway — the corner has to close, the bridging unit has to land on the carcasses either side, and the dressing table has to finish at a usable height.

Our intelligent beam saw plans the cut across the whole order so the finish stays consistent along the elevation, intelligent CNC and 6-side drilling machine every hinge and shelf position from the same file, and industrial edge-banding finishes each component.

How is the dressing table built into the wardrobe?

It sits between two drawer banks and takes its top from the run itself, so it is part of the wardrobe rather than a table pushed into a gap. The drawers either side give you the storage a freestanding dressing table would not.

Can the wardrobe turn a corner?

Yes — the Annabelle wraps onto a second wall. Corner returns are built in where the run turns, and the internal layout is planned so the corner stays reachable rather than becoming dead storage.

What happens above the bedroom door?

A bridging unit carries the run across the opening, so the wall above the door becomes storage instead of the run stopping either side of it.

Will a wardrobe this size make the room feel smaller?

It usually does the opposite. Flush slab doors give the wall nothing to catch the eye, so the storage reads as a surface; freestanding wardrobes take floor space and still waste the height above them.
