Sage Shaker Wardrobe
Seven sage green shaker doors floor to ceiling, with matt black bar handles and a lit dressing table built into the run.
Designed around how the room is really used.
Customer brief. The client wanted a classic painted wardrobe in a colour, not white, with a dressing table that belonged to the wardrobe rather than standing in front of it, and every inch of a long wall used.
Metro solution. A wall of plain shaker doors on 63mm stiles in sage green matt, built on our Chelsea design: 18mm wrapped MDF doors on 18mm carcasses, floor to ceiling and scribed to the wall, matt black slim bar handles, a lit dressing recess with drawers and a stool in the run, and a top box row over the doors for the things used once a year.

Plain shaker on 63mm stiles
The slimmest frame in our shaker family, so the doors read as calm panels rather than heavy frames, in a sage green matt that changes with the light.
Dressing recess in the run
A dressing table with drawers built into the wardrobe wall, lit from above, with a stool that tucks under and a mirror on the back panel.
Matt black bar handles
Slim matt black bars on every door and drawer, the one dark line against the green.
Floor to ceiling, top boxes over
The doors run to the ceiling with a row of top boxes above the hanging, and the whole run is scribed to the wall and the skirting on site.
“Metro understood that we wanted something calm and permanent, not just extra storage. The finished wardrobe feels like it was always meant to be part of the room.”Client, Hackney
