About This Style

Loft bedrooms have the best light in the house and the worst walls — sloping ceilings, low eaves, and not a single flat run a freestanding wardrobe can use. A loft fitted wardrobe turns exactly that space into storage: every door cut to the slope, every carcass built to the pitch of your roof, down to the last usable centimetre. Shown here on the Basel, our Lined Shaker door, with a study nook worked into the run.

How it works: at the home visit we measure the pitch and every height across the run; carcasses and angled-top doors are then cut in our Wembley workshop to follow the ceiling exactly — no filler triangles, no dead corners. The Lined Shaker family’s scribed-bead detail (routed into an 18mm E1-grade MDF core, wrapped in one seamless skin) keeps its rhythm even on sloped doors, which is why it is our first pick for eaves rooms. Soft-close Blum hinges throughout; low-eaves sections open on lift-up or reduced-height doors as the slope demands.

Make it yours: four frame widths from 20mm to 105mm (tap the door names above), 80+ matt, superior matt and woodgrain finishes, ten interior colours — and the same build handles dormers, chimney breasts and knee walls.

Every loft wardrobe is designed at a free home visit, made to measure in North London, and installed by our own fitters with a 10-year guarantee.

Loft Wardrobes London

The best storage in the house is under the roof

A loft conversion adds a bedroom but rarely adds storage — the sloping walls defeat every wardrobe you can buy. Building fitted is the only real answer: the run follows the pitch, the eaves become drawers, and the room gains metres of storage precisely where nothing else could stand. Done well, the sloped run looks intentional — architecture, not compromise.

Every loft project is measured pitch-and-all at a free home visit and built in our Wembley workshop — angled-top doors, dormer returns, knee-wall drawers and desk nooks — in 80+ matt, superior matt and woodgrain finishes with ten interior colours, installed by our own fitters with a 10-year guarantee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Loft & sloping-ceiling wardrobes: your questions answered

Can you fit wardrobes under a sloping ceiling?
Yes — it is a Metro speciality. Carcasses and doors are cut to your measured pitch, so the wardrobe follows the slope exactly instead of stopping where a flat-pack would. Even the low knee-wall space becomes drawers or shoe storage.
How much does a loft fitted wardrobe cost?
Sloped builds price like straight runs: most complete projects come to £2,400 – £8,500 including delivery and installation. The slope adds cutting time, not drama — your written quote itemises it after the free home visit.
What happens in the lowest part of the eaves?
The last usable half-metre becomes pull-out drawers, shoe trays or lift-lid boxes rather than hinged doors — planned at the design visit so nothing is wasted.
Why the Lined Shaker door for lofts?
Its twin scribed lines run parallel to the door edges, so even angled-top doors keep a calm, ordered rhythm — detail that flatters an irregular room rather than fighting it.
Are Metro wardrobes made in the UK?
Yes — every wardrobe is made in our own Wembley, North London workshop and installed by our own fitters, with a 10-year guarantee.
Door Edge Detail

The 6 Edge Profiles

The Six Edge Profiles

Edge profiles vary by door in this family — the Basel carries Profile Edge 1.
01
Chamfered BASEL
18mm or 22mm core, with a soft 3mm radius on the top-front edge. The most popular profile across in-frame and contemporary doors.

02
10mm Stepped Chamfer
18mm core with a 10mm chamfered step on the top edge — adds a subtle bevel that catches the light at the door's top line.

03
1mm Chamfered Edge
A near-sharp edge with a 1mm chamfer — gives doors a crisp, architectural feel. Common on slab and minimalist styles.

04
20mm Stepped Profile
A pronounced 20mm step that creates a defined shadow line along the top edge. Adds visible architectural detail to flat-panel styles.

05
25mm Gentle Curve
A wide 25mm rolled edge — the softest profile in the range. Reads as a hand-shaped, traditional joinery detail. Often paired with shaker and panelled designs.
