About This Style

The Maida Vale Handleless Kitchen is a cream matt handleless kitchen built around a white marble-effect worktop that wraps a peninsula with a breakfast bar for two. Walnut tall units frame the ovens on one side, cream wall units with a lit underside run over the sink, and two black pendant lights hang over the bar.

The two renders show the peninsula from the dining side, with its stools and pendants, and an open cutlery drawer lined in oak under the worktop. Cabinets are made to the room in Wembley, installed by the team that built them, with ten years of cover on every part.

Maida Vale Handleless Kitchen

The Maida Vale Handleless Kitchen is planned for a room that opens onto the dining space. A back run of cream handleless base and wall units carries the sink and the hob, walnut tall units at one end hold the ovens, and a peninsula returns from the run with a white marble-effect top that overhangs for two stools under a pair of black pendant lights.

The finish is a cream matt slab with a routed handleless rail along the top of every front, so the run reads as calm planes of colour, with the walnut tall units and oak-lined drawers adding warmth where you see and touch the kitchen most.

How it works: the base units are made-to-measure carcasses with a continuous handleless rail routed into the top edge of each front. Drawers run on full-extension soft-close runners; doors hang on concealed soft-close hinges. The peninsula is a run of drawers on the kitchen side with a panel end, and the worktop overhang is supported on concealed steel brackets.

Designed around how you cook and gather

A peninsula gives the cook a bar to talk across without giving up the wall run, and it draws a line between the kitchen and the dining space without closing either off.

  • Back run with sink, hob and lit wall units
  • Walnut tall units with an eye-level oven tower
  • Peninsula with drawers and a marble-effect breakfast overhang for two
  • Routed handleless rail on every door and drawer
  • Oak-lined cutlery and utensil drawers with fitted dividers
  • White marble-effect worktop and upstand, templated in place
  • Full-extension soft-close drawers, concealed soft-close hinges
  • Cream matt fronts, Cotta Cremona Oak interiors

Designed for the room: the back run shown is about 3.0 metres with a 2.2 metre peninsula. The same pieces are drawn to your room at the design visit.

Manufactured in our Wembley workshop

Every panel of the Maida Vale is cut in our HA9 Wembley factory to the survey of your room: the beam saw sizes every carcass panel, the CNC drills the hinge and runner positions, and the edge-bander finishes every visible edge, so the run arrives as one matched set.

The peninsula carcasses are built as a single unit in the workshop and the overhang is engineered for the stone before it is templated.

At the design visit we record the room, the light, the services and the appliance models; on installation the units are scribed to the walls and the floor.

Quality you can rely on: your Metro fitted kitchen comes with a 10-year guarantee covering parts and labour.

Frequently Asked Questions

Maida Vale Handleless Kitchen FAQs

What is the Maida Vale Handleless Kitchen?
A cream handleless kitchen with a white marble-effect worktop wrapping a peninsula breakfast bar for two, walnut tall units for the ovens, and oak-lined drawers. Made in Wembley to your room and fitted by Metro's own team.
Peninsula or island?
A peninsula returns to the wall at one end, so it needs about a metre less floor than an island and still gives you a breakfast bar and a second run of drawers. Where the room is wide enough, the same peninsula can be drawn as a freestanding island.
What is the handleless rail?
A rail routed into the top edge of each door and drawer front, so you open them with your fingertips and there is no handle to catch a sleeve. It is machined into the front in the workshop, not clipped on afterwards.
Is the worktop real marble?
The render shows a marble-effect quartz composite, which gives the veining without the staining that natural marble suffers in a kitchen. Real marble, quartzite and porcelain are all available; the worktop is templated after the cabinets are fitted and quoted separately.
Are the oak-lined drawers standard?
Oak-lined cutlery and utensil drawers with fitted dividers are specified at the design visit and priced per drawer. The rest of the drawers are full-extension soft-close boxes in the carcass finish.
Can I have a different colour?
Yes. The Maida Vale is shown in cream with walnut tall units. The same kitchen can be made in any of our painted colours or woodgrains, and the tall units can match or contrast.
Edge Detail

The Three Kitchen Edge Details

In a kitchen the edges are where the water and the knocks are: the worktop joint at the sink, the drawer fronts at hip height, the wall units at eye level. These are the edges we specify, and your designer confirms them at the visit.
01
1mm ABS Square Edge MAIDA VALE KITCHEN
The standard edge on a slab kitchen door: a 1mm band in the same colour or grain as the face, applied by machine and trimmed square. It is the edge on the wall units and the tall housings, where the cleanest line matters most.

02
2mm ABS Softened Edge
A thicker 2mm band with the corner taken off to a small radius. It goes on the base unit doors and the pan drawer fronts, the fronts a hip meets and a pan handle catches, where a square edge chips and a softened one takes it.

03
Sealed Worktop Joint
The kitchen edge. Where the worktop meets the wall, the sink and the hob cut-out, the joint is sealed so water runs across the top and off it rather than into the board beneath. The upstand covers the wall joint; the sink and hob cut-outs are sealed on the day the stone is fitted.
