About This Style

The Wilton Fitted Foyer Unit is a handleless hallway wall in stone slab. Three oak-lined niches step down across the middle, each lit from above, over a bank of drawers at hip height; an open lit shoe bay runs along the floor; tall cupboards take the coats; and a slatted oak bay with a lit worktop closes the run at the end.

Crafted from 18mm MFC with push-to-open fronts on solid-back carcasses, full-extension soft-close drawers, oak-effect linings in every niche and LED strips on the hall switch, the unit is built to the width of the wall and the height of the ceiling.

Every foyer unit is made to measure in our Wembley, North London workshop and fitted by our own team. Backed by a 10-Year Parts and Labour Guarantee.

Fitted Foyer Units

Wilton Fitted Foyer Unit

The Wilton Fitted Foyer Unit is a made-to-measure hallway wall with nothing to catch on: handleless stone slab fronts, three stepped niches lit from above for the things you drop on the way in, a bank of drawers at hip height, an open bay for the shoes in use, and a slatted oak bay with a lit worktop at the end for the post.

The finish is stone matt with push-to-open fronts, warmed by oak-effect linings in the niches and the slatted bay. The interiors are light oak woodgrain.

How it works: tall cupboards take the coats; the three niches step down across the middle with an LED strip under each shelf; a bank of drawers sits under them on full-extension soft-close runners; an open lit shoe bay runs along the floor; and the slatted bay at the end carries a lit oak worktop away from the door swing.

Designed around how you come home

A hallway is used for thirty seconds at a time, so the order of the run matters: where you stop, where a hand goes with the keys, where a shoe comes off. Each foyer unit is planned around that sequence at the design visit, and around who lives in the house.

  • Tall coat cupboards
  • Three stepped oak-lined niches, lit under each shelf
  • Bank of push-to-open drawers at hip height
  • Open lit shoe bay along the floor
  • Slatted oak bay with a lit worktop
  • Push-to-open catches and concealed soft-close hinges
  • Integrated LED strip lighting (warm white, white and yellow)
  • Built to the ceiling, with no gap above

Built for everyday use: the fronts at boot height carry a softened 2mm edge rather than a square one, the open niches are lined in oak-effect board that hides scuffs, and every carcass has a solid 18mm back fixed to the wall, so the run stands square on a hallway floor that rarely is.

Manufactured in our Wembley workshop

Your Wilton is made to measure and cut in our HA9 Wembley factory from the survey of your hall. The beam saw cuts each carcass panel to its own size, the CNC drills the hinge and shelf positions, and the industrial edge-bander finishes every visible edge, so the doors, drawers and niches leave the workshop as one matched set.

The hall width, ceiling height, skirting, the door swing and the position of the light switch are all measured at your design visit, and the run is scribed to the walls and floor on installation.

Quality you can rely on: your Metro fitted furniture comes with a 10-year guarantee covering parts and labour.

“Highly recommend. The service and quality are excellent. Our designer visited the house, took measurements and later showed us 3D renders of the finished wardrobe. The fitting team left the flat immaculately clean.”

Cameron MckGoogle review

“Incredible piece of work in terms of design, quality build and installation. This is my second wardrobe from Metro, eventhough you feel it bit expensive but every penny worth it. Highly recommend.”

Girish G BGoogle review

“Excellent service from design consultation through to completion. Great value with superb quality fitted wardrobes. The designer - Nitesh - helped us maximise the available storage space without busting our budget. The crew led by Sandeep was very professional, meticulous in the build and left the house spotless. We selected the super matt finish which is a little bit more expensive but looks fantastic. Our bedroom is transformed in the best possible way.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Wilton Fitted Foyer Unit FAQs

What is the Wilton Fitted Foyer Unit?
A made-to-measure handleless hallway wall in stone slab: three stepped oak niches lit from above over a bank of drawers, an open lit shoe bay, tall coat cupboards and a slatted oak bay with a lit worktop at the end. It is built to your hall in our Wembley workshop and fitted by our own team.
Why no handles?
In a narrow hall a handle is what a bag strap or a coat sleeve catches on. The Wilton uses push-to-open catches on every door and drawer, so the front is flat and nothing snags as you pass.
How much wall does it need?
The Wilton shown takes about 2.4 metres to the ceiling. The slatted end bay can be dropped on a shorter wall, and the niches widened on a longer one. The depth is planned to leave a clear walkway, usually 350 to 450mm.
Can I have a different colour or door style?
Yes. The same run can be made in any of our painted colours or woodgrains, in slab or shaker doors, with black, brass or knob handles. Samples are brought to your home so the colour is chosen in your hallway light.
Do you fit foyer units across London?
Yes. Metro designs, manufactures and installs fitted foyer and hallway units across London and the surrounding counties. The run is fitted within 21 days of your order being confirmed, usually in a single day on site, and carries a 10-year guarantee.
Edge Detail

The Two Hallway Edge Details

On a hallway unit the edges that matter are the ones hands, bags and shoes touch every day. These are the details we work to; your designer specifies them at the survey.
01
1mm ABS Square Edge WILTON FOYER UNIT
The standard edge on a shaker door: a 1mm band in the same colour as the face, applied by machine and trimmed square. It is the edge on the coat cupboard and the upper doors, above the height anything knocks into them, where the cleanest line matters most.

02
2mm ABS Softened Edge
A thicker 2mm band with the corner taken off to a small radius. It is specified on the bench front, the drawer fronts under the seat and the base cupboard doors: the fronts at shin and boot height in a hallway, where a square edge chips and a softened one shrugs it off.
