About This Style

The Wigmore Media Wall is a walnut wall that lights itself. The screen sits on a walnut panel in the centre, glass display columns lit from their edges stand either side, a run of push-to-open drawers takes the boxes below, and a lit pelmet finishes the wall at the ceiling.

Crafted from 18mm E1-grade board in a walnut woodgrain on a solid 18mm back, with glass shelves lit from LED channels in the column edges, full-extension soft-close runners and push-to-open catches, the wall is built to your room and your screen.

Every media wall is made to measure in our Wembley, North London workshop and fitted by our own team. Backed by a 10-Year Parts and Labour Guarantee.

Wigmore Media Wall

The Wigmore Media Wall is for a room where the wall has to look right with the television off: walnut across the whole wall, the screen on a central panel, and a column of lit glass shelves either side that glows in the evening.

The finish is a walnut woodgrain throughout, so the panel, the columns and the drawers read as one piece, and the light in the column edges picks out the grain.

How it works: the wall is a set of solid-back carcasses fixed to the wall. The screen hangs on a bracket through the central panel with the cables in the void behind; each column carries glass shelves lit from an LED channel in its edge; the drawers below run on full-extension soft-close runners with push-to-open catches; and a lit pelmet closes the wall at the ceiling.

Designed around your television and the room

A media wall works around more than the wall: the screen size and its height from the sofa, the boxes that need air and a line of sight for the remote, the cables that must not show, and what the wall does when the television is off. Each of those is measured and decided at the design visit.

  • Screen on a central walnut panel, drawn to your television
  • Glass display columns lit from LED channels in the edges
  • Push-to-open drawers below for the boxes and remotes
  • Lit pelmet at the ceiling
  • Solid 18mm back carrying the bracket and the cables
  • One walnut woodgrain across the wall
  • Integrated LED strip lighting (warm white, white and yellow)

Designed for the room: the columns can take glazed doors, the drawers can be cupboards, and the walnut can be any of our woodgrains or a painted colour with the columns lined in timber.

Built for everyday use: the Wigmore is built on a solid 18mm back fixed to the wall, so the screen bracket, the shelves and the cabinets are carried by the furniture rather than the plaster; the cables run in a void behind the back and the boxes sit in a ventilated bay.

Manufactured in our Wembley workshop

Your Wigmore is made to measure and precision-manufactured in our HA9 Wembley factory. The beam saw cuts each panel to its own size, the CNC drills the hinge, shelf and bracket positions, and the industrial edge-bander finishes every visible edge, so the wall leaves the workshop as one matched set.

The wall, the ceiling, the sofa position, the screen size and the sockets are all measured at your design visit, and the wall is scribed to the room on installation.

Quality you can rely on: your Metro fitted furniture comes with a 10-year guarantee covering parts and labour.

Frequently Asked Questions

Wigmore Media Wall FAQs

What is the Wigmore Media Wall?
A wall-to-wall walnut media wall: the screen on a central panel, glass display columns lit from their edges either side, push-to-open drawers below and a lit pelmet at the ceiling. It is built to your room and your screen in our Wembley workshop and fitted by our own team.
Do the columns have doors?
The columns shown are open glass shelves lit from the edge. They can take a glazed door on concealed hinges where dust or small hands are a concern, with the light kept inside.
Can it take a larger television?
Yes. The screen bay is drawn to the television you own or the one you are buying, with room around it for air and a soundbar, and the wall is proportioned so the screen sits at eye height from the sofa.
Where do the cables and the boxes go?
The cables run in a void behind the solid back and drop to the boxes, which sit in a ventilated bay behind a door or on an open shelf with a line of sight for the remote. Nothing shows on the front.
Can I choose a different finish?
Yes. The same wall can be made in any of our woodgrains or painted colours, with slab, shaker or glazed doors. Samples are brought to your home so the finish is chosen in the room.
How long does it take?
Fitted within 21 days of your order being confirmed, usually in one to two days on site. Our own fitters fix the wall, scribe it to the room, hang the screen and wire the lighting.
Edge Detail

The Three Media Wall Edge Details

On a media wall the edges are what the eye reads around the screen — the door reveals, the base you set things on, the shelf fronts that carry the light. These are the details we work to. Your designer specifies them at the survey.
01
1mm ABS Square Edge WIGMORE MEDIA WALL
The standard edge on an MFC slab: a 1mm band in the same decor as the face, applied by machine and trimmed square. It is the edge on the doors and end panels of a media wall, where a run of flat fronts around a screen wants the cleanest possible line and nothing to catch the light.

02
2mm ABS Softened Edge
A thicker 2mm band with the corner softened to a small radius. It takes knocks better than a square edge, which matters on the base of a media wall — the drawers and doors at shin height, opened with a foot or a push, and the top of a floating base that things are set down on. Specified per front.

03
Lit Shelf Edge
The media-wall edge. An LED channel is routed into the front edge of a shelf, a niche top or a base top before it is banded, so the strip sits flush inside the edge and lights the surface below it rather than the room. It is how the cubbies, towers, columns and niches on these walls are lit, on one dimmable switch.
