About This Style

Bespoke is not a style — it is the freedom to land exactly where you want between styles. The Capital Arch exists for precisely that brief: a wide, shallow arch drawn in a single fine line, with no heavy moulding, so the doors read classic from across the room and contemporary up close. Shown in near-black with brass and a lit oak display bay.

How it works: that fine line and the arch are routed into an 18mm E1-grade MDF core (PEFC/FSC® accredited) and wrapped in one seamless skin. Stiles are 60mm, edges finish in a soft 25mm sweep (Profile Edge 5), and doors hang on soft-close Blum hinges with your choice of handles. Because every carcass is cut to your measured wall, the design flexes — arch doors on the wardrobes, plain tops above, drawers below, whatever the room asks for.

Make it yours: 80+ matt, superior matt and woodgrain finishes (no gloss), ten Kronospan interior colours, floor-to-ceiling runs with top boxes, alcoves, walk-ins and corners — all cut in our Wembley workshop.

Every bespoke fitted wardrobe is designed at a free home visit, made to measure in North London, and installed by our own fitters with a 10-year guarantee.

Made for the wall it stands against

A bespoke wardrobe starts from your wall, not from a catalogue of sizes: the skirting is scribed to, the coving is worked around, the alcove’s wonky plaster is absorbed into the carcass, and the doors are cut to the exact centimetre your ceiling allows. The Capital Arch is the door we most often specify for these builds because it carries character lightly — one fine arched line that suits whichever century your house was built in.

Each project is designed at a free home visit and built in our Wembley workshop — floor-to-ceiling with top boxes, walk-ins, corners and over-bed runs — in 80+ matt, superior matt and woodgrain finishes with ten interior colours, installed by our own fitters with a 10-year guarantee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Bespoke fitted wardrobes: your questions answered

What does “bespoke” actually mean for a fitted wardrobe?
Three things, all of which we do as standard: built to your measured wall (not adapted stock sizes), specified by you (door style, finish, interior layout, handles), and made for the project in our own workshop. The design visit is where the specification happens — nothing is off the shelf.
Is bespoke much more expensive than off-the-shelf?
Less than most people expect, because nothing is imported or middle-manned: most complete projects come to £2,400 – £8,500 including delivery and installation. A written itemised quote after the free home visit shows exactly where every pound goes.
Why choose the Capital Arch door?
It is our most adaptable profile — a wide shallow arch drawn in one fine routed line. It nods to period character without heavy moulding, so it suits Victorian terraces and new-build flats equally well.
Can different rooms have different configurations of the same door?
Yes — that is the point of bespoke. The same Capital Arch face can run floor-to-ceiling in the main bedroom, over-bed in a guest room and as a compact run in a child’s room, all in matching or deliberately contrasting finishes.
Are Metro wardrobes made in the UK?
Yes — every wardrobe is made in our own Wembley, North London workshop and installed by our own fitters, with a 10-year guarantee.
Door Edge Detail

The 6 Edge Profiles

The Six Edge Profiles

The Capital Arch door is supplied with Profile Edge 5 — a soft sweeping 25mm taper that eases the edge into the face.
01
Chamfered CAPITAL ARCH
18mm or 22mm core, with a soft 3mm radius on the top-front edge. The most popular profile across in-frame and contemporary doors.

02
10mm Stepped Chamfer
18mm core with a 10mm chamfered step on the top edge — adds a subtle bevel that catches the light at the door's top line.

03
1mm Chamfered Edge
A near-sharp edge with a 1mm chamfer — gives doors a crisp, architectural feel. Common on slab and minimalist styles.

04
20mm Stepped Profile
A pronounced 20mm step that creates a defined shadow line along the top edge. Adds visible architectural detail to flat-panel styles.

05
25mm Gentle Curve
A wide 25mm rolled edge — the softest profile in the range. Reads as a hand-shaped, traditional joinery detail. Often paired with shaker and panelled designs.
