Ravenswood Office Space

The Ravenswood Office Space is the fitted office for a small room with a good window. A desk sits beneath the glass between two drawer pedestals, each with three drawers and a cupboard, and a tall cabinet stands beside it against the return wall for the files and equipment that would otherwise live on the desk.

The example shown is in a dark textured slab finish with slim bar handles — a deliberate contrast with the white walls and the light outside, so the desk reads as a piece of furniture rather than a fitted unit. The same finish runs inside the cabinetry.

How it works: the Ravenswood is built from 18mm E1-grade MFC with a solid back, as three pieces planned to the room: two pedestals fixed to the wall under the window with the desk top spanning them, and the tall cabinet on the return. The window sets the desk width and the sill height sets the top.

Doors hang on soft-close hinges and the six drawers run on soft-close runners; the knee space between the pedestals is sized to the chair.

A small office needs the desk in the light and the storage off the floor, and the Ravenswood does both in the width of one window.

Designed around your working position: you face the window, with a drawer at each hand and the cabinet within reach of the chair. Nothing is behind you and nothing is above head height, which is what makes a small room feel like an office rather than a cupboard.

Keeping your workspace organised: six drawers at desk height take the stationery, the notebooks and the chargers; the two pedestal cupboards take the paper and the printer; the tall cabinet takes the archive. The desk top carries a monitor and a lamp and nothing else.

Built for everyday use: 18mm MFC carcasses with a solid 18mm back, fixed to the wall so the desk does not rock, and finished on every visible face in the same dark board.

Manufactured in our Wembley workshop

A desk under a window has to be exactly the width of the reveal or it shows. The two pedestals and the top are cut on the beam saw in our HA9 Wembley factory to the survey, and the tall cabinet is cut to the return wall and the ceiling.

Drawer runners and hinges are drilled on the CNC, the cable grommets are cut in the top before it leaves, and every edge is banded on industrial equipment in the same finish as the face.

The window reveal, the sill height and the return wall are measured at your design visit.
