Warwick Loft Wardrobe London

The Warwick is a loft wardrobe for a room that has to be more than a bedroom. The run shown fills the low wall under the eaves with three things: a hanging bay on the left, a television media unit in the centre and a desk on the right — all open, all under the slope, all in the same white matt and natural oak.

It is doorless by design. Under a roof this low a door would have nowhere to swing, so the Warwick uses open bays and drawers instead: the hanging is on show in an oak-lined bay, the television sits on a marble-effect back panel with shelving above and three drawers below, and the desk has a drawer pedestal and a stool. Brushed nickel knobs on every drawer.

How it works: the wall is divided by use. The tallest section, under the rooflight on the left, takes the hanging because hanging needs height. The centre, where the ceiling is still comfortable, takes the screen at eye level from the bed. The right-hand end, where the roof falls fastest, takes the desk because you sit at a desk.

Carcasses, shelves and drawer boxes are 18mm E1-grade MFC; drawers run on soft-close runners.

Two finishes are used on purpose. The white matt carcasses disappear into the wall; the natural oak bays and shelf edges mark out where things live.

Built for awkward spaces: the roof in the room shown comes down to desk height at one end and to a low shelf at the other. The Warwick uses both ends for the things that suit those heights and keeps the tall middle for the screen and the hanging.

Built for everyday use: 18mm MFC carcasses with a solid 18mm back, top and bottom; the back panel behind the television carries the cable management and the marble-effect face, and the drawer boxes are full-extension so the back of each is reachable under the slope.

The Warwick shown measures 4200mm wide x 2400mm high at the tallest point x 600mm deep. Yours is planned to your wall and your roof.

Manufactured in our Wembley workshop

The Warwick is three pieces of furniture cut as one. The angled end panels and the stepped tops are cut on the beam saw in our HA9 Wembley factory to the roof pitch taken at the survey, and the CNC drills every shelf, runner and knob position so the drawer fronts line through from the hanging bay to the desk pedestal.

Open shelving means every edge shows: the oak and white matt edges are banded on industrial equipment, and the media unit’s back panel is cut for the screen bracket and cables before it leaves the factory.
