Battersea Chest of Drawers London

The Battersea is the chest that stands in for a dressing table. At 1.5 metres wide and 800mm high it has the surface for a round mirror, a lamp at each end and whatever is in use, and beneath it three shallow drawers for the jewellery and the make-up and four deep ones for the clothes.

The greige is a warm, matt lacquer that reads as stone against a dark wall and as putty against a pale one; the black bars sit on one line across the top row and centred on the deep drawers below.

How it works: one carcass, two dividers, seven drawers: the top row 150mm deep, the lower four 260mm, all on full-extension soft-close runners. The top is a single 18mm board banded all round and finished in the same lacquer, or a stone top where it is used as a dressing surface every day.

Designed as a dressing chest

A dressing table has a mirror and no storage; a chest has storage and nowhere to sit. The Battersea is the chest with the top of a dressing table: standing height, wide, with the small drawers where the make-up is and the mirror on the wall above.

Designed for the room: the chest can be narrower with two pairs below, the top can be a stone or a timber, and the bars can be brass; a wall mirror and lit shelf can be made to match.

Built for everyday use: the lacquer wipes clean, the top drawers are lined for jewellery on request, and the whole chest is fixed to the wall with a concealed bracket.

Manufactured in our Wembley workshop

The Battersea is cut, built and sprayed in our HA9 Wembley factory, with the drawers fitted and the bars aligned before delivery.
